The Civil Guard of Costa Teguise arrested a foreign tourist, 36 years old with initials J.B., last 9th, as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of currency counterfeiting for trying to pay with a fake 20 pound note at the reception of a hotel in the municipality.
After the hotel staff reported a customer who was trying to pay for a product with a fake bill, the Civil Guard agents went to the place and verified by means of the means available in the hotel -reactive marker and electronic machine- that said person possessed the aforementioned 20 pound bill. The Benemérita affirms that the tourist later collaborated with the agents by handing over six more counterfeit bills worth 120 pounds.
After the corresponding police investigations focused on determining the falsity of said bills, the agents of the Investigation Area arrested J.B. as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of currency counterfeiting, being placed at the disposal of the corresponding Court in charge of Arrecife.
