The La Dolce Vita restaurant in Puerto del Carmen suffered a fire this Friday afternoon, as reported by the Emergency Consortium. The fire occurred around 4:52 p.m. in the premises on Tenerife street in the tourist town and caused the immediate evacuation of the premises and the adjacent building.
After being alerted by the CECOES, firefighters, volunteer firefighters from Lanzarote, Civil Protection of Tías, Local Police and Civil Guard went to the scene.
Upon arriving at the scene, the extinguishing teams found flames in the extractor hood and in the ventilation duct, which extended through an interior patio of the building. The firefighters proceeded to extinguish the flames in the restaurant using water, while the BRAVO 2 from the South Park was in charge of extinguishing the fire in the duct.
Once the fire was controlled, a thorough ventilation of the premises was carried out to eliminate the accumulated smoke. The owner of the restaurant was informed of the material damage, which was mainly limited to the kitchen area.
The head of service coordinated the extinguishing work together with the consortium firefighters, while the area was cordoned off to guarantee the safety of residents and passers-by.
