The Local Police of Tías were alerted in the early hours of Wednesday by a telephone call made by the receptionist of some apartments in Puerto del Carmen, reporting that a man had entered his reception, "bleeding profusely and asking for help because he had been stabbed twice."
Immediately, a police patrol arrived and provided first aid to the victim, a 51-year-old British man. The same agents had to apply a tourniquet to stop the bleeding, and later, an ambulance transferred him to the Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery for the injuries suffered.
With the information gathered by the Local Police of Tías, a search and location device was initiated for the alleged perpetrator, which in a few hours resulted in the arrest of Mark G., 44 years old and of British nationality, when, according to the agents, he was preparing to go to the airport in order to leave the island.
The detainee was transferred to the headquarters of the Local Police of Tías, where the proceedings were instructed and sent to the Civil Guard.
According to the Local Police, the origin of the aggression could have been a sentimental discussion between the two men, who were on vacation in Lanzarote and shared the same apartment.
