A man was seriously injured after being stabbed twice at his home in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria by his sentimental partner, whom he had reported months ago for domestic abuse.
A second-floor apartment in the Schamann neighborhood was the scene of the event, which occurred on Tuesday afternoon, according to police sources, who detailed that the assaulted man, identified as José Antonio Ortega, 43, received two cuts, one on his shoulder and another on his leg, which forced him to be urgently evacuated to a hospital, where he remains without risk to his life.
"Screams and a great scandal" that could be heard from hours before by various neighbors of the couple, who assured that the discussions between man and woman were frequent, to the point that he had denounced her and they had separated on several occasions to then reconcile, preceded the stabbing.
The sources added that the woman, identified as Esther S.G., 36, was arrested by the National Police, who planned to make her available to the judicial authority throughout yesterday, Wednesday.
