A Lanzarote resident, owner of a property that he had for rent in Tahíche, found this weekend a corpse inside it, hidden in a closet. According to the owner, he had visited the house to check its condition, after his tenants abandoned it two weeks ago.
"I went to check how everything was because the neighbors called me and told me that they had left without warning and that they had left everything open," explains the owner. Upon arriving at the property, he found that a great stench came from the place. Once inside, he found a pot of chopped meat in the middle of the living room, so he deduced that the smell came from that putrid meat.
"I went to a room to open a window to ventilate the house," says the owner". "Once in the room I realized that the smell came from a closet in the room, when I opened it I found a man's corpse in it, wrapped in plastic, although I don't know if it is the man to whom I rented the house or another person". In the garden of the house there was also an open pit two meters wide and one meter deep.
"The neighbors had told me that they were problematic, that they argued a lot and that they also drank," adds the owner, who also assured that a man, native of Madrid, and two sisters who came from Eastern countries lived in the house. "I think they were two Polish girls, who were sisters and who also had two children."
Apparently, the man had a love relationship with one of the sisters, although quite stormy, "since there are complaints in the Court for mistreatment and the Police brought him summons," according to the owner of the house, who adds that "once, being with him, they came to notify him of a sentence."
The Civil Guard has already sealed off the property and opened an investigation, although so far no arrests have been made nor has it been possible to confirm the identity of the deceased, pending the results of the autopsy that was performed on Monday morning.
