The theft inside the vehicles was carried out during the early hours of the morning by forcing the upper part of the door frame and then opening the lock, accessing the interior of the vehicles and stealing sunglasses, cash and mobile phones, among other objects.
During the investigation and surveillance operation, an 18-year-old man was arrested after being caught red-handed inside a vehicle he had broken into. It was later found that the individual had broken into 19 vehicles in the area where the incident occurred, as well as a house.
The Civil Guard, who surprised the individual with three bags containing stolen objects, arrested him for a total of 30 alleged crimes of robbery with force inside vehicles and one robbery with force in a house.
The detainee is in prison after being brought to justice in the Investigating Court number two of Arrecife.
