A 73-year-old French man has died this Monday after suffering a drowning at Playa de la Barrilla in Puerto del Carmen. The event took place at approximately 4:45 p.m. this Monday. At that time, a call alerted the Coordinating Center for Emergencies and Security (CECOES) 1-1-2, reporting that they had pulled a man from the water and that the beach lifeguards were performing resuscitation maneuvers on him.

SUC personnel traveled to the beach and continued with resuscitation maneuvers and initiated advanced procedures, without success, so they later confirmed the death of the affected individual.

The Civil Guard has taken charge of the corresponding procedures.
