A foreign man, whose age and identity have not been provided at the moment, died this Friday after suffering a fainting spell on Avenida de Las Playas, in the tourist town of Puerto del Carmen, in the municipality of Tías.
According to the data provided by the Emergency and Security Coordination Center (CECOES 1-1-2), which activated the emergency services to act on the incident, the event took place at around 12:49 p.m., when the victim suffered a fainting spell caused by a cardiorespiratory arrest, which was assisted by personnel from the Canary Emergency Service (SUC), in the presence of members of the Spanish Red Cross.
Resuscitation maneuvers
However, the cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers performed by the health personnel on the victim were unsuccessful, resulting in the inevitable death.
At the same time, another man, also of foreign nationality, who was with the victim at the time he suffered the cardiorespiratory arrest, had to be evacuated by the medicalized unit to the General Hospital of the Island, where he was treated for the nervous breakdown that caused the death of his companion.
