A flight that had taken off this Wednesday from Gran Canaria and was heading to Bilbao had to be diverted to Lanzarote, due to "serious medical problems" of a passenger, according to air traffic controllers.
The man, of "advanced age", became ill when the plane had already left the archipelago behind, so the pilot had to turn around and head to the nearest airport, which was Lanzarote.
The controllers have given "priority" to this maneuver, which has been tried to cut as much as possible, while coordinating medical care to be assisted upon arrival on land.
