A premises belonging to the three-star hotel El Trébol, located in the town of Coste Teguise, suffered a fire on Sunday afternoon that demanded more than an hour and a half of work from the members of the fire department to put out the flames, and which resulted in substantial material damage but fortunately no one was affected.

The fire originated, for reasons that experts are trying to establish, in a commercial premises not used for those purposes and adjacent to the aforementioned lodging complex, located on Acacias 40 street, meters from its intersection with Islas Canarias avenue, behind the Los Zocos apart-hotel.

The premises was used by the hotel as a storage of furniture that is out of use and pending repair, especially armchairs and chairs. The fire started around 5:30 p.m., and immediately personnel from the fire department, Teguise Local Police, Civil Guard and Emerlan moved to the place. A dense cloud of smoke, very black and visible from any point in Costa Teguise, showed the significant combustion of the aforementioned elements which, due to the characteristics of their materials, caused the fire to spread with great ease.

However, the action of the firefighters meant that the flames did not spread outside the aforementioned premises, managing to extinguish the fire completely around 7:00 p.m.. Because there was no one inside the premises, there was no personal injury to regret, although there was material damage, the value of which is still being evaluated by the hotel management.
