The National Police have arrested a 57-year-old man with a police record in Arrecife as the alleged perpetrator of a crime against public health. The intervention began on October 11 on Los Geranios Avenue, when he was pulled over because he was driving "performing maneuvers that endangered traffic safety and talking on his cell phone." At that time, according to the agents, he tried to avoid the search by "strongly grabbing the car door."
Finally, when he stopped resisting, the police found 30 packets of heroin and 127 euros in cash inside the vehicle. As a result of this finding, they requested judicial authorization to also carry out a search of his home, seizing a total of 595 grams of heroin, 795 grams of cutting substance, two precision scales, two computers, three Guinea Bissau passports and 8,120 euros in cash.
For all these reasons, the agents of the National Police proceeded to his arrest as the alleged perpetrator of a crime against public health, later placing him at the disposal of the judicial authority.
