A boat was adrift this Sunday in the waters of Tinajo, after its two crew members jumped into the water to practice spearfishing. The events took place at noon, when the recreational boat, named "Evecla", based in the port of Playa Blanca, was not properly anchored, so it was dragged by the current.
When the fishermen realized that their boat was sailing out of control, they could no longer do anything to anchor it. Thus, the fishermen were forced to leave the water by land, and for this, they were assisted by a patrol of the Emergency and Rescue Group (GES).
In addition, another boat also came to the scene, captained by the uncle of Juanjo Morales, the Lanzarote native member of the Civil Guard who drowned precisely in these waters of Tinajo on June 11.
No one could do anything to recover the boat, which ended up destroyed by the strong currents in the area. Luckily, both crew members did not suffer any damage.
