A beam causes damage to a house in El Charco without causing victims

On Monday afternoon, around 6:30 p.m., a beam from a construction site on Requinto Street, in Arrecife, fell on the roof of a private home. The impact has opened a hole in the roof of the building, exactly in the room of the owners' daughter, where debris could be seen scattered on the floor. Just one hour before the accident, and according to the parents, the girl was playing in that same room.

Fortunately, at the time of the incident, the house was empty, although the owner, who works in a warehouse next to the damaged building, heard the impact and called the police. "We are waiting for the lawyer, to know whether to file a complaint or not," explained the owner. One hour after the events, the company's representatives, GDB Prolan Promotora, had not passed by the place, according to the Police. "They had 15 or 20 beams like the one that fell, and they are removing them," an agent told La Voz.

The causes of the accident are not clear at the moment. The police are considering the possibility that the wind was the cause of the collapse. "It seems that it is a problem of the wind, now the promoter will contact the owner to fix the damages," police sources explained.
