A 42-year-old man was admitted in critical condition early Monday morning after being the victim of a beating in Arrecife. Several acquaintances of the affected man have indicated to La Voz that the man was about to enter the door of his house, on Arniches street, in the Altavista neighborhood, when "he was assaulted by several people."
The man, a native of Guinea Bissau, lives at number 3 of said street, but appeared bloody and lying on the ground at number 28 of the same road, according to his relatives to La Voz. "They caught him between a few and gave him a beating," they say.
For its part, the National Police have indicated to La Voz that "there are no witnesses" to the events, so they do not even know if one or more people participated in the aggression, as several neighbors and acquaintances of the victim claim. For the moment, the Police only confirms that the investigation remains open and that there are still no detainees.
For its part, 112 has indicated to La Voz that it received a call at 6.10 am on Monday, in which it was communicated that "there was a package, which looked like a person", on the ground of a lot. Thus, it activated both the Canary Emergency Service and the National Police. When they arrived at the scene, they found a man, who presented "bleeding, hemorrhage and a strong blow to the head." The man was transferred to the Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital.
However, after hours, and given the severity of his injuries, he was evacuated by helicopter to the Doctor Negrín Hospital. At that time, he presented a traumatic brain injury with severe bleeding, according to reports from the Coordinating Center. The acquaintances of this man have indicated that he is still "unconscious" and that his condition is serious.
