A 31-year-old man was injured on Sunday afternoon after falling from a height of three meters inside a building on Doctor Gregorio Marañón street in Arrecife. As confirmed by the Coordinating Center for Emergencies and Security (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the Government of the Canary Islands, the young man fell down some stairs and suffered trauma to his chest and hip.
After being alerted by Cecoes, the firefighters went to the scene, verifying upon arrival that the young man had impacted his left side and was immobilized, already being attended to by paramedics.
To evacuate the injured man from the building, the firefighters had to place a ladder truck, needing to invade a lane of the street, for which police presence was requested. Once the police arrived and after cutting off the street, marking the area and deploying the ladder truck, the firefighters placed the injured man on a vacuum mattress to be evacuated on the ladder truck's stretcher. And once at street level, the injured man was transferred to the ambulance stretcher, being evacuated to the Molina Orosa Hospital.
