The Arrecife City Council is processing a total of 59 complaints for non-compliance with the regulations, which regulate the sector of bars and entertainment venues, by not respecting their opening and closing hours, lacking soundproofing or not having opening licenses to carry out the activity.

This volume of complaints has been announced by the mayor of Arrecife, Yonathan de León, who is also directly responsible for the Local Police. These infractions have been initiated throughout this year 2023, with initial actions by the Local Police who have appeared at these establishments in the capital of Lanzarote and draw up the corresponding reports. Among these 59 files, there are establishments for nightlife, bars or premises that are open without having the corresponding qualifying titles (opening licenses).

The Classified Activities Area, under the direction of Councilor Óscar López, is responsible for processing these sanctioning files to the owners of these establishments. In recent weeks, the Arrecife City Council has published multiple notifications of the proposed sanctions in the BOE due to the impossibility of receiving direct notifications at the addresses assigned in the documentation.

The mayor has announced that the Local Police is intervening in compliance with the regulations governing permitted hours, monitoring the limits on noise generated in these premises, and the existence of the required licenses to carry out the activity.

The Councilor of the Classified Activities Area, Óscar López, details that these breaches can be sanctioned, for establishments that fail to comply with schedules and noise, with amounts between 3,000 1 and 15,000 euros. Meanwhile, for lacking a qualifying title (opening license), the sanction is up to 30,000 euros, or the closure of the activity, depending on the case.

Óscar López has detailed that there are some establishments where musical equipment has been sealed off due to the high levels of noise recorded.
