Fisheries Inspection agents of the General Directorate of Fisheries of the Government of the Canary Islands have seized a total of 29.5 kilos of octopus "without documentation to prove its legal origin and traceability" in a restaurant in Arrecife.

As reported by the regional Executive, the merchandise was located inside a freezer in the premises, distributed in different plastic bags.

The inspectors proceeded to draw up an inspection report reflecting said fishing infraction, since, as they explain, the current regulations establish that any fishery product that is marketed both in fishmongers and in restaurants must be accompanied by documentation that proves its traceability and legal origin.
