The verse speaker from Artenara, Yeray Rodríguez, conquered the audience that filled the Santo Domingo de Teguise convent this Thursday night.
Yeray Rodríguez is a torrent of words, to which he has dedicated his life studying language, teaching literature, analyzing meanings and listening to elders and children, from the experience that life gives and the spontaneity that innocence gives.

In his performance in Teguise, the verse speaker was accompanied by Fernando García (percussion) and Luz Mila Valerón (guitar and voice) and chose a repertoire with some Canarian touches intermingled by the "Cuban Points", a genre that Yeray masters to perfection and in which the public also participates including some phrases with which Yeray, with the mastery that characterizes him, makes a complete composition.
The Cuban Point is being strongly implemented in the Canary Islands and more and more learning schools are attended by children and young people interested in practicing this genre in which until now only men participated although women are also making it their own.

On the eve of the big day of the festivities in honor of Our Lady of Carmen, Yeray Rodríguez managed with his performance to make the audience smile again, leaving aside the pressure to which the pandemic has subjected us.

The mayor of the Teguise City Council, Oswaldo Betancort, and the Councilor for Culture and Festivities, Nori Machín, presented Yeray with the poster announcing the concert, which ended with some "Décimas" where the audience, standing, said goodbye to Yeray and the accompanying musicians.
