Vanesa Cumber, wearing the fantasy 'Simply Friends' designed by Kevin Rodríguez, was proclaimed this Sunday Queen of the Arrecife Carnival 2025 in a gala in which the election of the Children's Queen also took place, a title that fell to Suhaila Bouddih Hernández, who wore the fantasy 'You're so cinematic' also designed by Kevin Rodríguez.
The Agramar Venue once again became the epicenter of the capital's carnival with the celebration of the long-awaited Election Gala of the Queen of the Carnival and the Children's Queen of the Arrecife Carnival 2025. After years without being held, the Department of Festivities, led by Deputy Mayor Echedey Eugenio, recovered both contests held for the last time in 2018 with regard to the Queen of the Carnival and in 2017 the Children's Queen.
The gala kicked off with the intervention of the winners of the IX Children's Murga Contest of the Arrecife Carnival, Los Noveleros, which gave way to the Children's Queen Election Contest in which six young aspirants paraded with spectacular fantasies, proclaiming First Lady of Honor Yshira del Carmen Quesada Reguera who presented 'Isis, Queen of Egypt' by designer Pedro Vizcaíno and sponsored by Plus Fariones; and Second Lady of Honor Aitana González Vázquez with '¡Greedy me!’, designed by Pedro Vizcaíno with the sponsorship of Hero and Co.
The other three candidates were Triana Alba Ritore who wore 'Adventure at Sea', a design by Rafa Montesdeoca; Naomi González, who showed the fantasy 'Endless Party', by Rosa Montesdeoca; and Alexia Noda Reyes who presented 'Electra, light of the universe', by Creaciones OSSG.
Five candidates
With the emotion still latent, the intervention of the Philharmonic Las Revoltosas gave way to the election of the Queen of the Arrecife Carnival 2025. Five candidates paraded with imposing creations proclaiming First Lady of Honor Yureima Morena Delgado with 'Aloha', a creation by Pedro Vizcaíno, and Second Lady of Honor Irune Frías Guadalupe, who wore 'Explosion of Life' a fantasy by Rosa Montesdeoca. Anyara Elvira Zarazo also aspired to the title with 'You are my great dream', designed by David Hernández, and Yennifer Seoane Pimienta who wore 'Diva' by designer Rafa Montesdeoca
Hosted by journalist Techy Acosta and presenter Yeray Betancor, the Gala offered a vibrant show that captivated the audience, transporting attendees to the magical world of Disney, with a staging by M&G Anima Events. Characters from Toy Story, Beauty and the Beast and Frozen, among others, came to life in a show full of visual effects, spectacular choreographies and dazzling costumes. The singer Kuve also performed, delighting the audience with her powerful voice.
The Deputy Mayor and Councilor for Festivities of the Arrecife City Council, Echedey Eugenio, expresses his satisfaction with the successful development of the Gala and has thanked the participation of all the candidates, designers, sponsors and attendees, highlighting the importance of recovering one of the most emblematic events of the Arrecife Carnival.
