The Minister of Culture of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Jesús Machín Tavío, together with the Mayor of Tinajo, Jesús Machín, wanted to promote the traditions and culture of the Canary Islands with the celebration of the Noche de los Finaos. In it, he highlighted the importance of mixing culture, art and tradition to spread and maintain Canary Islands customs among the new generations and not forget the past.

This Sunday 29th and Monday 30th October, the Plaza de San Roque was the perfect setting for Noches de Finaos, with the representation of the theatre company Actúa, headed by excellent actors and actresses who showed in their own flesh the idiosyncrasy of this celebration. Joche Rubio, Luis Padilla, Rita Negrín, Atteneri Caro, Antonio de la Cruz, Beneharo Hernández and Germán Barrios took a tour of the rich Canary Islands traditions at the hands of death.

On the other hand, the extraordinary actress and narrator from Lanzarote, Isabel Cabrera, delighted the public with her famous stories, which on this occasion were about the municipality of Tinajo. All this set with roasted chestnuts and wines, so typical of this time.

Finally, the Rancho de Pascuas Archinech de Tinajo put the finishing touch, whose music and lyrics have transported us to the 18th century. A tradition deeply rooted in the culture of the island.

This initiative was promoted by the culture area of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, directed by Jesús Machín Tavío, and the culture area of the Town Hall of Tinajo, directed by Yurena Cubas, and had the collaboration of felapyme.
