The Municipal Theater of Tías hosted on Saturday night the X Canarian Tenderete "La Candelaria 2017", organized by the Gaida Folklore Group and the Department of Festivities of the City Council of Tías. A night in which attendees could enjoy tradition and culture, but, above all, popular music from both the Canary Islands and Murcia, according to reports from the Consistory.
And this year the invited group Coros y Danzas Sagrada Familia de Murcia performed, made up of approximately 60 people, including musicians, singers and dancers. Among the events in which this folk group has participated, numerous regional festivals and a wide variety of performances throughout the national territory and internationally stand out.

The Sagrada Familia de Murcia choir and dance group offered, within their repertoire, their typical representative dances, such as jotas, malagueñas and parrandas.
For its part, the Gaida Folklore Group of Tías filled this tenderete with Canarian sentiment, in which they offered their traditional isas, malagueñas and folias. Gaida, which takes its name from the mountain located in the municipality of Tías, which welcomes the town of Asomada on its skirt, was created and founded thanks to the work of three brothers who played from the town of Tías. Juan, Bartolomé and Benigno Díaz Mesa, the founders, "constantly and freely taught everyone who wanted to be part of the group." They, with their discipline, their good work and their perseverance, managed to build the good foundation of Gaida.

The act ended with the delivery of gifts from the folklore groups to the Tías City Council. These were received by the mayor, Pancho Hernández, and the Councilor for Festivities, Francisco Javier Aparicio. Both formations also mutually gave each other a detail in gratitude "for the treatment received and the warm welcome", in addition to having been able to share customs and identities.
