The Agustín de la Hoz Cultural Center in Arrecife was the stage chosen by the young soprano from Lanzarote, Lorena Torres Cáceres, for her concert in which she was accompanied by the prestigious pianist María Eugenia Jaubert. Last Monday at 7:00 p.m., with a full house, the concert called 'An Epic Journey' began.
Soprano and Pianist conquered the audience not only for the great professional qualities of both, but also for an impeccable staging where there were no cold and distant barriers with the public. Lorena and Eugenia connected from the first moment, making the concert enjoyable, in addition to reaching the public, who enjoyed the variety of compositions performed by greats of music such as; W.A. Mozart, Giacomo Puccini, Fernando Obradors, Gioachino Rossini, Jesús Guridi etc.
The concerts at the Agustín de la Hoz Cultural Center for soprano Lorena Torres are highly valued for their acoustics and the closeness between the artist and the public. Establishing a dialogue where the soprano in great detail described the content of each composition she performed, thus making it easier for the public to know why and for whom these works were written. The concert, which consisted of two parts so that Lorena could take a short break, was covered with great mastery by the pianist María Eugenia Jaubert.
The soprano and the pianist finished the concert with the encore entitled: 'Canción de Paloma', thus receiving the warm applause of the public.
Her career
Lorena Torres Cáceres has a degree in Pedagogy and a professional piano degree, in addition, she carries out her musical studies at the Higher Conservatory of Music of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. As a Soprano, she receives her lyrical training from the Baritone Augusto Brito and the Soprano Carmen Acosta. Her pedagogical experience has been developed teaching subjects at the Higher Conservatory of Tenerife and different private schools.
María Eugenia Jaubert Rius is a pianist repertorist of Singing and Instruments at the Higher Conservatory of Music of the Canary Islands (based in Tenerife, where she is originally from). She studied at the Higher Conservatories of Tenerife and Madrid, at the Musikhochschule of Vienna and at the Royal Academy of Music of London.
