The short film “Before the Eruption”, by Roberto Pérez from Lanzarote, preselected for the Goyas

The Lanzarote native continues to advocate for "a diverse and committed cinema, focusing this time on the transgender reality."

The short film “Before the Eruption” by Roberto Pérez Toledo from Conejero, has been preselected by the Film Academy among the fifteen fiction works that are vying for the Goya Award for Best Short Film. These shorts are being voted on by all academics to decide which ones will finally be nominated for the 2022 Goya. 

The film has been recorded entirely in natural locations in Lanzarote. For a limited time, "Before the Eruption", which has been nominated for 24 awards, will be available for a few days "free of charge on the YouTube channel of its director", in addition to remaining available on the Movistar Plus platform.

Roberto Pérez has been the director of feature films such as “Six Points About Emma” and “Like Foam”, as well as several award-winning short films such as “Vuelco” or “Los gritones”. The Lanzarote native continues to advocate for "a diverse and committed cinema, focusing this time on the transgender reality."
