The 'Saborea Festival' returns to Teguise at the end of November, as announced this Wednesday during the meeting of Oswaldo Betancort with the primary and gastronomic sector of Lanzarote and La Graciosa at the Farmer's Monument, with the aim of once again "promoting the Saborea Lanzarote brand as the axis for the development of the cooperation strategy and policies that improve the economic competitiveness of the Island".
"Saborea Lanzarote is a benchmark, model and example of good gastronomic know-how, inside and outside the island", said Betancort, thanking the attendees for their "response and active participation in this first meeting between public institutions and economic agents" that make up Saborea Lanzarote, and recognizing the "effort they have made over the last few years, managing to revalue the local product linked to our landscape, territory, culture or historical heritage".

Accompanied by the CEO of the Art, Culture and Tourism Centers, Ángel Vázquez; the general director of the Canarian Institute of Agri-Food Quality (ICCA), Luis Arráez, and Juan Betancort, as technician of the Economic Promotion Area of the Island Council, the president celebrated "the good health and potential of a model with great projection", showing his commitment to "address the demands of professionals and plan a new Saborea in Teguise and a 2024 of authentic economic take-off, because the objective is that all that circular economy generated by Saborea Lanzarote "reverts to the population of Lanzarote, in families, self-employed and SMEs, through the generation of wealth and employment".
"I am a firm defender of public-private collaboration, because I have seen the great fruits it produces when unity and not confrontation is promoted, when we work by joining forces and not excluding, when we work responsibly having all the same horizon and the same common goal. And that common goal is Lanzarote and La Graciosa," he asserted.
The Saborea Lanzarote Festival will return to Teguise in November
During the day, the novelties and events that will be covered by the Saborea Lanzarote brand were presented and it was announced that the 'Saborea Festival' will return to the Villa de Teguise at the end of November to celebrate its tenth anniversary.
"I encourage all those present to be part of the reconstruction of the largest enogastronomic event in the Canary Islands and to work hard to make it an unforgettable edition, in which we will ensure to maintain an aesthetic and a design worthy of this Island and we will fight to give a service according to the effort you will make", concluded Oswaldo Betancort, expressing his "wish that the festival will once again become an unmissable event with the gastronomy of all the Canary Islands and a forum for meeting, exchanging enogastronomic experiences that will delight residents and tourists".

Although the 'Teguise Festival' is going to be ten years old, the Saborea Lanzarote project has been consolidating the Island as a Gastronomic Tourism Destination of the first level for almost fifteen years. It is not only, or exclusively, a quality tourist product, but it is a "product of extraordinary strategic value, as it generates a circular economy among many sectors of our island, such as the primary sector (agricultural, livestock and fishing), the processing industries, including our cheese factories, producers, wineries, the restaurant sector, and of course, among the small and medium-sized companies that, directly or indirectly, participate in the economic engine that drives it".
Saborea Lanzarote has been "a pioneer in highlighting and recognizing the values of sustainability and zero kilometer products linked to the primary sector, the restaurant sector and the tourism sector". In addition, "it continues to grow with new projects such as 'Worldcanic', a meeting where experts from all over the planet meet to share experiences and knowledge, and also raise awareness in today's societies about the preservation of ecosystems".
In addition, 'The International Congress of Volcanic Cuisine and Ecosystems', which will celebrate its third edition this year, was presented this Wednesday to the UNESCO evaluators who "are visiting the Island in the process of revalidating the Geopark Lanzarote seal".
