The novelist, Benjamín Prado, protagonist of the next meeting of the I Lanzarote Literature Festival

The poet, novelist, essayist and panelist, Benjamín Prado, will be the protagonist of the third meeting of the 1st edition of the Lanzarote Literature Festival, which will take place next Thursday, June 22, starting at 7:30 p.m., at the Islote de Fermina in Arrecife. Prado will offer a talk in interview format, which will be moderated by the festival director, Carlos Battaglini.

Benjamín Prado debuted as a novelist in 1995 with "Raro". In 1996 he published "Never shake hands with a left-handed gunman" and "Where do you think you're going and who do you think you are", followed by "Someone is coming" (1998), "The snow is empty" (2000), "Bad people walking" (2006), "Operation Gladio" (2011) or "Settling of accounts" (2013), all of them belonging to the series "The cases of Juan Urbano".

As an author, however, he had already seen several books of poetry published before 1995, such as "A simple heart" (1986), his first work in the lyrical genre, or "The blue heart of the lighting" (1991).

He was the winner of the "Hiperión Prize" with "Shelter between storms" in 1995, of the International Poetry Prize Ciudad de Melilla with "Iceberg" in 2002, and of the International Generation of 27 Prize, with "Human tide". In addition, he has co-written several songs with the singer Joaquín Sabina, including most of the albums "Vinegar and roses" (2009) and "I deny everything" (2017). He has also collaborated with artists such as Coque Malla or Amaia Montero.
