The headquarters of the César Manrique Foundation in Taro de Tahíche hosted this Tuesday the award ceremony of the IX Radio Lanzarote-Onda Cero Short Story Contest, dedicated to the Lanzarote artist on the occasion of the centenary of his birth.
The event was attended by the three winners of the contest, Josefina García Laynez, Sonia Vega and Fernando Marcet, as well as most of the finalists. On behalf of the FCM were present its director, Fernando Gómez Aguilera, as well as other representatives of the institution, while Radio Lanzarote-Onda Cero was represented by the coordinator of the radio program 'Lectura en Voz Alta' and promoter of the contest, Manuel Martín Arroyo, its director, Techy Acosta and the managing director of Lanzarote Media, Pablo Muzás.
During the event, the different prizes and gifts were given to the winners of the contest, organized this year in collaboration with the FCM. Thus, Josefina García Laynez, who won the first prize for a story inspired by César Manrique's wind toys, received a television, a pack of products from the centenary of Manrique and a pack of books published by the Foundation.
For her part, Sonia Vega, winner of the second prize for her story 'The island and the little devil', took a tablet, a pack of centenary products and a pack of books published by the FCM.
As for Fernando Marcet, who participated in the contest under the pseudonym of Santiago Betancort, received wireless headphones, as well as a pack of centenary products and a pack of books as the winner of the third prize with his story 'One Hundred Words'.
The remaining finalists were also given a pack of products from the centenary of César Manrique.
