The Víctor Fernández Gopar Theater "El Salinero" will host this Saturday, June 5, the performance of "Taro”, a family show where oral narration and vernacular music from Lanzarote merge to tell the story of Taro, a boy who was born and raised among the volcanoes of his beloved island.

The narrator Isabel Cabrera, the singer Acoraida Cabrera and the musician Alejandro Cabrera review the history of Lanzarote through the senses. Image, voice and music will be the protagonists of this journey into the interior of the Island of Volcanoes, which aims to pay tribute to our most illustrious artist, César Manrique, but which is also born with the aim of looking back and delving into the traditions and idiosyncrasies of the island.

“Taro” can be seen this Saturday, June 5, at 6:00 p.m., at the Víctor Fernández Gopar “El Salinero” Theater. The performance is organized by the Culture area of ​​the Cabildo de Lanzarote, which is coordinated by the councilor Alberto Aguiar. Tickets cost 6 euros and can be purchased on the Cultura Lanzarote website. The show lasts 60 minutes and is recommended for children over 5 years of age.

A story written by Isabel Cabrera and illustrated by Nereme Melián

This theatrical show is based on the homonymous story written by Isabel Cabrera herself and illustrated by Nareme Melián, with the design of the visual artist Carmen Corujo, which was subsidized by the Cabildo de Lanzarote, and whose official presentation will take place after this staging.
