Paz Padilla, the popular presenter and comedian from Cadiz, will take to the stages of the Canary Islands between April 14 and May 21 to present the show that is sweeping this theatrical season in Spain, 'The Humor of My Life'.

The planned tour of the fun theatrical version inspired by the best-selling book of the same title written by the artist herself in 2021 and published by Harper Collins, includes the island of Lanzarote with two unique performances that will take place on May 6 and 7, at the Auditorium of Los Jameos del Agua.

Padilla's tour will begin at the Nuevo Teatro Viejo de Arucas on April 14, followed by performances on the 15th and 16th at the Teatro Víctor Jara de Vecindario. Tenerife will host three performances: in March at the Teatro Leal de La Laguna on the 21st and 22nd, on the 23rd at the Teatro de La Villa de Arafo, and on May 14th at the Teatro Infanta Leonor de Adeje. In Lanzarote, the Auditorium of Los Jameos del Agua will host two performances scheduled for May 6 and 7.

The tour of 'The Humor of My Life' will also reach the Asabanos Cultural Center of El Hierro on May 12 and 13 and the Teatro Circo de Marte of Santa Cruz de La Palma on May 19 and 20, concluding at the Insular Auditorium of the capital of La Gomera on the 21st of that month.

Invigorating Production

In a secret refuge, among pine forests and on the edge of a swamp, Paz Padilla wrote 'The Humor of My Life', the book in which she narrates her life experience accompanying her husband in the process of his illness and his farewell. Now transformed into a stage production, during the course of the performance, she formulates an invigorating and healing reflection around death and life, starting from the death in 2020 of her second husband, Antonio Vidal, of whom she never tired of repeating how happy she was to have reunited with her boyfriend when they were both almost teenagers and that they were soulmates willing to be together for the rest of their lives. Padilla and Vidal had been friends and then a couple in their adolescence, when she was barely 14 years old and he was 17. It was the first relationship for both of them.

It is a journey between love and death where one learns to live well and die well. A path full of discoveries, mistakes, sorrow, and humor, a lot of humor, because life is full of all that.

Directed by Pablo Barrera, 'The Humor of My Life' also features on stage the participation of the producer and composer Juan Fernández de Valderrama (member of the group Materia Prima, whom she has known for many years), who accompanies Paz Padilla with some melodies and songs in acoustic during a performance that is full of numerous personal anecdotes -both sad and funny- lived by Padilla with Antonio.

According to the popular comedian about her show, "the feeling with which people leave is with a crazy desire to live, to love, and to say to their family "I love you, thank you". It is very gratifying to see the audience laugh and cry with emotion and leave the theater happy." If her characters had made Paz Padilla a beloved person for the public, the way she assumed and explained the illness and death of her husband through her successful book and now in its theatrical version, have made her a reference.
