Presentation of the 'Canarias Manga Fest'

This Wednesday, the first edition of the Canarias Manga Festival Lanzarote was presented at the Cabildo of Lanzarote, a pioneering event that will take place from January 24 to 26 in Arrecife and will bring together hundreds of fans of manga, anime, video games and Japanese culture.

With the support of SPEL - Turismo Lanzarote and the Departments of Youth and Festivities of the Arrecife City Council, the festival will offer talks, contests, workshops, concerts and activities for the whole family.

The president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Oswaldo Betancort, stressed during the presentation the fact that "young people deserve educational and leisure events like this." He referred to the need to support multidisciplinary proposals such as this festival that lands for the first time in Lanzarote. "We also ensure the differentiated governance model that we are building for our society, and especially for young people." The president also defended the dynamic of administrative collaboration that is reinforced during this term with the Arrecife City Council, "to continue boosting its economy".

For his part, the deputy mayor and councilor of Festivities of the Arrecife City Council, Echedey Eugenio, remarked on the success of choosing the capital for the development of the festival, and invited a massive participation "of that legion of fans who enjoy the anime world; because this is a leading festival that energizes the city's leisure offer and will deepen the diverse character of our culture," said the councilor before also encouraging the curious to come and discover the manga world.

The presentation also included the participation of the councilor of Youth of Arrecife, Rosmen Quevedo, and the councilor of Youth of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Aroa Revelo.

For the whole family

Zukoabega Producciones, the company producing the event, emphasizes that this initiative is "designed for the enjoyment of the whole family." According to the artistic director of the festival, Tenesor Cruz: "This event will delight lovers of Japanese culture, but something that is discovered in these three days is that you will wait for us to be here again next year. This festival is characterized by being outdoors, free and for offering workshops and activities for all tastes."

Tenesor Cruz also revealed some details of the program: "We will have MasterChen, a social media phenomenon, who will perform live cooking. Keuman and Hermoti will delight us with their famous performances. In addition, we will have dubbers and professionals who have worked on the successful series Arcane."

Attendees will be able to enjoy immersive experiences such as trying on a yukata, tasting Japanese sake and participating in the authentic tea ceremony.

For video game enthusiasts, the festival will include a large gaming area, which, according to Cruz, will be "one of the largest in the Canary Islands."

The Canarias Manga Festival is an event designed for all audiences, combining culture, entertainment and gastronomy in an unforgettable experience.
