The Department of Tourism of the Arrecife City Council has expressed its "satisfaction" for the nomination of the Arrecife en Vivo Festival for the Canarian Music Awards. According to the City Council, the festival is nominated in the category of 'Best Canarian Programming' in the company of Aguere Cultural, an independent space in La Laguna, and the concert series 'Musicando', produced by the Culture Area of the Las Palmas City Council.
The Councilor for Tourism of Arrecife, David Duarte, has expressed his "pride in a consolidated festival that every year proves that it leaves its mark on those who participate in it." "This is the first edition of these awards, promoted by Canarias Radio and by the Professional Association of Composers, and the fact that Arrecife en Vivo is among these awards once again demonstrates the good health of culture and events in the capital of Lanzarote", he pointed out.
As explained by the City Council, the selection of candidates was made through a survey in which 200 people from the music industry participated. Next, a jury made up of journalists specialized in cultural information, such as Diego Hernández, Héctor Martín, Jonathan Delgado, Ana Sharife and José María de Paíz, deliberated and decided on the three finalists in each category. They will also be in charge of choosing the winners of the gala that will be held on May 26 at the Teatro Leal in La Laguna (Tenerife).
