The grand gala dedicated to the Copla - Spanish Song closed the program of events for the festivities in honor of San Antonio María Claret in Altavista.
The event, held in Los Luchadores Park, began at 8:00 p.m. last Sunday. It was presented by Mari Carmen Santacruz, a great connoisseur of the genre, who put all her knowledge, passion, and art into dedicating an extensive curriculum on their artistic career to each of the participating artists.
The gala began with a performance by the singer Eva Aroca, accompanied by the guitarist Antonio who, with great mastery, enveloped Eva's powerful voice with an art that transcended beyond the stage. This, together with the impressive choreographies of Andalusian art with the dancers Tatiana and Alicia, whom the public did not stop applauding during their performance.
Next, the three women winners of the third edition of the Altavista Sings festival, held the night before, took to the stage. Aia Ojeda and the sisters Inma and Gloría Esther Sepúlveda were accompanied by the orchestra formed by five musicians, great professionals, and who, under the direction of Professor Manuel Mauri, performed the winning songs.
The stage was completely transformed when Mari Carmen introduced the artist born in La Línea de La Concepción (Cádiz) Jonathan Santiago, a great lover of the copla who began his career in music at the age of twenty. This brave artist dares to sing coplas that no man has ever sung.
Jonathan Santiago was accompanied on guitar by Fran. Pure art, where the guitar in his hands was pure melody, while at the piano was a master with an endless resume, Josemi, an arranger who has accompanied the greatest of Spanish song in many concerts.
In his performance, Jonathan Santiago performed some of the greatest hits of the greatest copla singers such as Rocío Jurado or Marife de Triana, among others, also making an exhaustive review of the different variants that the gypsy and Andalusian song encompasses in all its aspects.
With words of thanks from the president of the Padre Claret Neighborhood Association and presenter, happy and excited about the development of the festivities and the participation of the neighbors, the final point was put with the illusion of continuing to work for Altavista.
