The 11th Film Festival broke audience record with an impact valued at one million euros

The 11th Lanzarote Film Festival, held between November 24 and December 5, 2021, has presented an exhaustive report of the edition where it is evident that the attendance of public has not only been higher than other years, but has broken record.

The specialized agency Kantar, leader in the sector, has valued the economic impact in one million euros, according to a report from the Tenique Cultural Association. Figures marked by the greater influx of professionals and a large number of activities compared to other editions, with programs of local, regional, national and even international scope.

“This Report wants to record the enormous social, educational and economic importance that culture has for Lanzarote and the Canary Islands," explains Javier Fuentes Feo, director of the Festival. "In its 120 pages, it is reflected in data what is the extraordinary return that these projects have for our island.”

The document also shows how the project relates to the business and economic fabric of Lanzarote, collaborating directly and indirectly with more than 200 companies. Specifically, it is estimated that 70% of the expenditure during the project has had a direct impact on companies and professionals in the area of the island.

The Film Festival has been highly valued by the Ministry of Culture through the ICAA (Institute of Cinematography and the Arts of Spain), which highlights the future prospects of the Tenique Cultural Association.
