The Hat Dance night of the San Bartolomé festivities once again became a success in terms of participation, bringing together thousands of people in one of the most fun popular activities organized by the San Bartolomé City Council through the Department of Celebrations.
This event, framed in this edition of the San Bartolomé 2025 Patron Saint Festivities, took place in the Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente park, in an evening in which humor, good atmosphere and music combined perfectly in a day that each year attracts a greater number of public in the festive calendar of August in Lanzarote.
Batateros and batateras put all their creativity and talent into the making of original hats and designs in which there was no lack of winks to current affairs and local reality. Not only residents of the municipality participated, but also people from different parts of Lanzarote, who did not hesitate to join this day.
The mayor of San Bartolomé, Isidro Pérez, pointed out that “The Night of the Hat is already a consolidated and highly anticipated date in our festivities. The large attendance of public demonstrates the interest aroused by this act that encourages participation.”
Thus, the evening of this Thursday, August 14, began with the Night of Humor, starring the comedian Maestro Florido, to continue with the Hat Dance, where neighbors presented their creations, awarded in the individual and collective modalities. The musical closing was in charge of Nueva Stella, Los Conejeros and Mambo Latino.
The Councilor for Celebrations, Estefanía Luzardo, pointed out that “every year this event continues to grow and the response from the public and their wide participation demonstrates the success of proposals that encourages us to continue betting on a varied program.”
The patron saint festivities will continue this weekend with two important events: on Saturday, August 16, the Popular Pilgrimage will take place, and on Sunday, August 17, the Tapas Day, which will bring together neighbors and visitors around local gastronomy.
