The Tenique Cultural association invites citizens to bring forward the celebration of Canary Islands Day by a few hours, with attendance, on May 29 at 8:30 p.m., to the opening screening of the series Destiladera. Lanzarote revealed, at the Arrecife Civic Center.

The film Intimate Cartographies of an Island, which stars this year's project, clearly recovers the atmosphere of tradition, customs and ancestral wisdom that permeates every May 30, the holiday commemorating the approval of the archipelago's statute of autonomy.

To guide and accompany this first trip to the past proposed by Tenique Cultural, Ginés Díaz Pallarés, a historical figure in the environmental movement in the Canary Islands and president of the association “El Guincho” for many years, and Dailo Barco, a filmmaker from Tenerife and creator of the film on display in 2024, will be present.

As will happen in the rest of the screenings, scheduled in the next two weeks in all the municipalities of Lanzarote, the activity includes the viewing of the film, a colloquium with the public and an enyesque, thanks to the support of the association of artisan cheese factories of Lanzarote AQUAL and the Vega de Yuco winery.

Access is free for all interested persons.

The places and times of the seven remaining sessions can be found at www.teniquecultural.com
