Plaza León y Castillo hosted the traditional Christmas lighting ceremony, with which San Bartolomé inaugurates the Christmas festivities, with the presence of the mayor, Isidro Pérez, the Councilor for Festivities, Estefanía Luzardo, the Councilor for Public Works, Raúl de León and municipal councilors. The neighbors came expectantly to the event and enjoyed the evening. The inauguration of the traditional nativity scene made by César Corujo and Francisco Berriel, featured performances by Maritza Conraide and the Rancho de Pascua de Haría.

Christmas lighting is present at the main entrances of each town with traditional elements such as Christmas trees, gift boxes and balls, and in the towns of San Bartolomé and Playa Honda, two new 16-meter trees, with varied lights that offer different shapes, are the new elements that the City Council has added to decorate these days of celebrations, shopping, photos, and walks, both in Plaza Santa Elena and in Plaza León y Castillo, which looks beautiful with the illuminated palm trees, the tree, the portal, a place that lends itself to visits these days, such as the central streets of the town of Playa Honda and open commercial areas.

Two large and passable decorative elements are also installed on Avenida de Las Palmeras, a passable Christmas ball and a large tree in the Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente Park.

The mayor, Isidro Pérez, thanked the staff of Festivities and Public Services for the great work they have done, who "have worked tirelessly so that San Bartolomé is filled with Christmas sparkles today and with this light in the background, to begin the entire program of events planned for these dates, encouraging participation."
