The patron saint festivities of San Bartolomé will have San Bartolomé CF as the town crier, which this year celebrates its 50th anniversary, so the event will also serve as a tribute to this sports club.
The mayor of the San Bartolomé City Council, Isidro Pérez, conveyed his congratulations last Tuesday on behalf of the Consistory and pointed out that "since the beginning of its activity, they have been growing year after year until becoming a social reference of the municipality, to which we must add the enormous work they do daily with the base, made up of more than a thousand children who play sports, enjoy and learn in municipal facilities."
The proclamation will come from all the presidents that the team has had throughout its history, with a memory of those who are no longer present.
"Many residents of the municipality have been part of the club's history and for that reason they will all be represented in the proclamation of the San Bartolomé Festivities," they point out from the institution.
The Councilor for Sports, Raúl de León, also wanted to congratulate them and stated that he is pleased with this appointment to the team and that he hopes that in the coming years they will arrive loaded "with the same successes that they have achieved so far."
Meanwhile, the Councilor for Festivities, Estefanía Luzardo, encouraged the residents of the municipality of San Bartolomé to participate in the proclamation, pointing out that "it will be an emotional account of an important part of the municipality's history."
Gold Medal and events for its 50th anniversary
In addition, the mayor explained that "we want to give this recognition to San Bartolomé CF for the magnificent work they have done during this half century, preparing an important series of events to commemorate its fiftieth anniversary", in a program of events that will be presented soon.
The City Council also confirmed that the procedures have been initiated to award the Club the Gold Medal of San Bartolomé for "its great dedication to the young people of the municipality and its good work in sports and social matters."
Finally, Pérez encouraged them to follow the line of work that they have marked throughout this trajectory that has led them to be "a reference in the municipality and on the island of Lanzarote."
