The Official Language School (EOI) of Lanzarote has announced that it will open a classroom in Playa Blanca (Yaiza). The institution, which depends on the Ministry of Education, Universities, Culture and Sports of the Government of the Canary Islands, has announced that it will be operational from the next school year 2023-2024.
According to the note issued by the Government of the Canary Islands, it is initially planned to teach the first course of the basic level A2 and the first course of the intermediate level B1 of English, and later expand the language offer, levels and courses.
"The location of the EOI classroom in the south of the island responds to its distance from the central headquarters and the tourist specialization of the area's economy," the Education Area of the regional Executive pointed out in a statement. For this reason, the Yaiza City Council has shown its interest in offering these teachings and has offered to collaborate with the opening and closing of the building. Classes will be taught at the CEO Playa Blanca, in the afternoon.
The application period for places in all language schools in the Canary Islands will run from April 10 to 28. On June 13, the definitive vacancies will be published, and from June 14 to 23, continuing students (who are promoted or repeat) may apply for registration. On June 15, the provisional lists of applicants (allocation of places) will be made public, and on the 26th of that month, the definitive lists. The ordinary registration period for new students will be from June 27 to July 7.
Applications can be submitted through the generator available on the website of the Ministry of Education, Universities, Culture and Sports of the Government of the Canary Islands. This new educational offer in Playa Blanca is attached to the Official Language School of Arrecife, with whom it shares management and teaching team.
