The Associated Center of the UNED in Lanzarote witnessed, with more than fifty people of various ages, the presentation of Pablo Martín López's book, ‘Rag Smiles’. The novel, which was presented on Friday night, is the third by this professor and writer, who has been based on the island since the late eighties.

The person in charge of the presentation, Mario Ceballos, gave way to the writer in an "emotional, relaxed and dynamic" act, according to some attendees. He asked the author to explain some relevant aspects of his latest creation, also motivated by the intervention of the public present.

Pablo Martín López highlighted the "long and accidented writing process", which began at the end of 2010, the reason for the title, the collaboration of the painter Rosa Vera for the cover, the "omnipresence" of young people in his works as well as that of "repeated symbolic spaces", especially the sea, the island and the mountain. He also emphasized its open endings and the proposal to invite readers to "reflect and directly involve" in the "attempt to transform this inhuman and lacking in values world." "A work with a contained rhythm at times; others, fast-paced; lively dialogues balanced with descriptive backwaters of different images of the island." The event closed with an invitation to read the novel and the signing of copies by the author.
