The theatrical performance 'Legend and Storm' at the Víctor Fernández Gopar Theater 'El Salinero', began a session of scenic activities, which was enjoyed by more than 900 students in Lanzarote. The Minister of Education, Ascensión Toledo, highlighted the "wide participation" and the "success" of this initiative, whose purpose has been "to bring theater, art and culture closer to the youngest on the Island."
Likewise, the Minister detailed that the initiative was aimed at 5th and 6th grade Primary courses and congratulated both the work of the theater company, as well as the involvement of the management teams, the teaching staff, the families and the children themselves.
A total of 18 schools from all over Lanzarote took part in this project, which was divided into two sessions held between 9.30 and 12.30 in the morning, so that all students from the educational centers could participate.
The theatrical play is produced by '2RC Teatro' and directed by Rafael Rodríguez. As for its synopsis, it deals with “Legend, the person in charge of watching over the San Borondón island lighthouse every night. In order not to fall asleep or get bored on the long nights, she carries books with great adventures in her suitcases. Suddenly, on a stormy night, while she sleeps, the lighthouse on the island of San Borondón, which Legend must watch over, goes out. Something mysterious has happened.”
