The César Manrique Foundation (FCM) will host next Thursday, October 10, at 7:00 p.m., at its headquarters in Taro de Tahíche, the conference entitled 'Literary Journey', given by the writer and journalist Manuel Vicent. This activity is part of the program for the centenary of the artist's birth, which the institution that bears his name will celebrate until April 24, 2020. Admission to the event is free until full capacity is reached.
During his speech, Vicent will try to discover "the first germ of the writer, what is the unconscious that nourishes him", according to the FCM. To do this, he will review the events of his childhood, adolescence and youth that led him to dedicate himself to writing and to write as he does. At the same time as he makes this literary journey, the speaker will delve into the history of the country and the environment of the society in which a writer develops.
This conference is included in the cycle 'The author and his work. Encounters with creators', in which José Saramago, Alberto Campo Baeza, Carmen Martín Gaite, José Ángel Valente, Susan Sontag, Juan Goytisolo, Eduardo Galeano, Günter Grass, Ángeles Mastretta, Eduardo Mendoza, Rosa Montero or, recently, Manuel Rivas, among others, have participated.
