The festival of San Pedro is a festive day in which the residents of the town of Mácher do everything possible to not miss the event and celebrate their Patron Saint. At 7:00 p.m. this Thursday, the celebration of the Eucharist began, presided over by the priest assigned to the Nuestra Señora de Belén parish in Fuenlabrada, Francisco Javier Sánchez González, assisted by the parish priest of Tías, Adrián Sosa Nuez.

The songs for such a special festivity were enlivened by the Coral Marina de Puerto del Carmen, directed by Professor Miguel Ángel Cabrera, in addition to the readings and psalm with the texts of the festivity. The priest recounted how the early years of San Pedro's coexistence with Jesus and the other apostles had been and how, over the years, he became the first Pope of the Catholic Church.

After the Eucharist, the image of San Pedro was received in the portico of the church with the ringing of bells and applause from the parishioners who crowded around him. The music band 'Unión Musical de Lanzarote' led by Professor Pepe Artiles headed the procession, followed by the image of San Pedro. The celebrating priests, authorities, and parishioners together walked the central road in front of the church, and upon their return to the tent, the members of the GÜerma Folklore Group of Puerto del Carmen awaited them, offering the best of their traditional songs and dances with airs of folias, seguidillas, and malagueña, which were greatly applauded by the public, thus concluding the festivity in honor of San Pedro.

Next, the public went to the social hall of the Socio-Cultural Center to enjoy the play: "Who are we marrying Ruperto to?", a classic at these festivals and which is eagerly awaited by fans of the Mácher Theater, who on this occasion staged the play. The festivity ended with a magnificent musical show, highly applauded by the public that filled the permitted capacity.
