The management of the 'Agrupación Folclórica Los Campesinos' presented this Tuesday an ambitious program called 'Memories of the Land', on the occasion of the celebration of its 60th anniversary. It was the president Miguel Ángel Corujo who was in charge of explaining to the public, which filled the headquarters installed in Argana Baja, some of the activities that will be carried out throughout the current year. The workshops, photographic exhibitions, talks, concerts that will be held in various locations on the island, including the Auditorium of Los Jameos del Agua. Without forgetting the expected 'Campesino Festival' to be held during the San Ginés festivities.
The president was "very excited" about the work he is carrying out, where compositions will also be recovered with all the essence of those songs with the authentic hallmark, which since its foundation has been championing and taking to all corners of the Canary Islands and the World.
The presentation of 'Memories of the Land', had the institutional support of the Government of the Canary Islands, with the Minister of Culture and Universities, Migdalia Machín, with the Vice President of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Jacobo Medina, with the City Council of Arrecife and its mayor Yonathan de León, the Deputy Mayor and Councilor of Culture, Echedey Eugenio and the Councilor of Culture, Jesús Machín Tavio. All valued the great trajectory that 'Los Campesinos' have been championing during all these years, becoming worthy representatives of the Traditional Canarian Culture and committing to provide them with the necessary support. Aid destined to the necessary items of each of the institutions they represent.
In addition, the event was also attended by Benito Cabrera, and the representative of the César Manrique Foundation, Alfredo Díaz, and historians and folklorist friends. A very emotional Miguel Ángel thanked everyone for their attendance, ending the event with a glass of honor.
