The Day of Canarian Literature will take place on February 21. This year is dedicated to Ángel Guerra, pseudonym of the Lanzarote writer José Betancort, who is the author of such emblematic works as La Lapa. It is the first time that the Day of Canarian Literature has been dedicated to an author from Lanzarote, so the Councilor of the Publications Service wanted to carry out a series of actions throughout the year to help enhance the relevance of this appointment for the island.
Among these activities, the Publications Service has organized an activity to promote the works of Ángel Guerra and Canarian literature in general, through the installation of a stand on Calle Real, in front of the Casa Amarilla that will house some of the island's bookstores that will sell works of Canarian themes and authors.
The stand will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and during that time, books will also be signed by some local writers as a way to also promote literature written on the island.
Likewise, the works published by the Cabildo will be exhibited, which attendees who wish to do so can buy in the bookstores that will be present at the stand.
