La Santa is already celebrating the summer festivities of Nuestra Señora del Carmen, which began on July 5 and will run until the 18th.
The Tinajo City Council has prepared a program adapted to the security measures against the coronavirus pandemic, which started this week with mud workshops and traditional games (tángara, intelligence and skill games, shepherd's jump...) from 09:00 to 12:30 hours.
The morning of Monday, July 12 will begin the big week of the festivities with a hat workshop, a Parcheesi and Goose championship and a chair game. On Tuesday, July 13, a balloon twisting workshop will be held and a three-in-a-row championship and a ping pong championship will be held. On Wednesday, July 14, the ball and water balloon games championships will arrive, while on Thursday, July 15, there will be a soccer championship and a drawing contest.
On Friday, July 16, as a preview to the weekend with the big days of the Nuestra Señora del Carmen festival, activities will be launched in the La Santa lake from 09:30 hours (treasure hunt, burned, pañuelito, limbo). At 12:00 noon the Eucharist will take place in honor of Nuestra Señora del Carmen and, at 21:30 hours, there will be music with the Tenique Group on the sports court, with José Vicente Pérez, Adrián Niz and Elieser Betancort.
On Saturday, July 17, there will be a family hiking activity interpreted from 09:30 hours with 30 places for residents in Tinajo and at 21:30 hours there will be a new musical event on the sports court by Julio López, from Sentimiento con arte.
The festivities of Nuestra Señora del Carmen will close on Sunday, July 18, with traditional wooden games for the whole family, which will take place on the sports court from 11:00 to 13:00 hours. To attend the events on the 16th and 17th, prior registration is required at the telephone number 928 840 037.
The Councilor for Festivities of the City Council of Tinajo, Jonatan Pérez Olivero, “invites the citizens of La Santa to celebrate the festivities of Nuestra Señora del Carmen with caution, to enjoy them as every summer with a program for the whole family”.
For the mayor, Jesús Machín, “the program that has been prepared for the town of La Santa is ideal to enjoy but without forgetting the protection measures against the coronavirus pandemic". "There are events with limited capacity and others require prior registration. But what there is, above all, is a great desire to enjoy, with caution, the festivities of Nuestra Señora del Carmen in the town of La Santa”, concluded the mayor.
