'La Fiesta de la Chola' - initially scheduled for August 12 but postponed to this Saturday due to the heat alert - culminated with a "great success" the program of events prepared on the occasion of the 'Fiestas de San Ginés'.
This party featured the participation of Zumba Live Music, Dj Elvis, Rikabanda, Tributo Manny Manuel, Aseres, Tributo Juan Luis Guerra, Zapato Veloz and Batucada Menuda Caña, and included a hat contest with prizes of 200, 250 and 300 euros per category, as well as a foam cannon and water mats for the enjoyment of children. A great atmosphere was created from noon where many families enjoyed, which continued until the night with a great public success in the area next to the stage of the Parque Islas Canarias.
Among the public present was Yonathan de León, who wore a hat with an allegory to the Puente de Las Bolas, and the councilor of the organizing area, Juanjo López. The mayor has highlighted that "this family party has achieved the applause of the people of Lanzarote and has earned its place in future editions."
Also, among the attendees were the first deputy mayor and councilor of Festivities, Echedey Eugenio, who highlighted "the colorfulness of this party conducive to the enjoyment of families", as well as other public representatives who in some cases also wore picturesque hats.
The 'Fiesta de la Chola' had a Violet Point whose objective was "to raise awareness in society in the fight against sexist violence", in an initiative that the Arrecife City Council carries out in mass events held in the municipality through the Department of Social Welfare, Equality and Immigration led by Maite Corujo.
