The Piracy Museum, located in the Santa Barbara Castle of Teguise, also known by the nickname of Guanapay, is celebrating its VII anniversary and within the activities to commemorate this date, it hosted the concert 'Timple Fusión' on Sunday by the musical group Jaira Quartet.
The audience was able to enjoy songs as diverse as 'Hey Jude', composed by the Beatle Paul McCartney, or the famous 'Talismán' by Rosana from Lanzarote, which were followed by 'Hotel California', 'Pájaro Campana' and 'Tico, Tico', without forgetting songs of Canarian roots such as folías and isas.
Jaira Quartet is made up of young musicians from Lanzarote, specifically José Vicente Pérez on the timple, Adrián Níz on the guitar, Carlos Almaguer on the drums and Ayoze Rodríguez on the clarinet. All of them have a great musical background and in each of the arrangements they achieve, through fusion, that each instrument has its space, becoming the singing voice of each of the melodies to be interpreted. Jaira Quartet also has an album, in which its members have put all their enthusiasm so that their followers can enjoy it at any time.
The Councilor for Culture of the Teguise City Council, Olivia Duque, present at the event, pointed out that concerts will continue to be offered at the Santa Bárbara Castle on Sundays at 12 noon. In addition, she made a small assessment in which she pointed out that each year the Piracy Museum receives a total of 40,000 visitors, a figure that does not include schools or cultural groups that also visit it, a very positive assessment that encourages them "to continue working so that Teguise continues to be a cultural reference point for Lanzarote".
