Humor, love, barriers, music, unhealed scars... all this, and much more is La Diva Invisible, the acclaimed musical show produced by Amartes Escénicas that will land at the Jameos del Agua Auditorium on Saturday, September 27, starting at 8:00 p.m.
Written by Albano Matos and Daniel María, and directed by Oscar Rivero and Matos himself, La Diva Invisible is an anthological musical monologue that begins just before Brava's long-awaited return to the stage after several years of absence. When she recognizes three former loves in the audience, the past bursts in with force. Unable to perform, Brava locks herself in her dressing room and confides in Mimi, a mannequin who has become her vital confidante. Through this intimate ritual, Brava relives the loves that marked her life and reveals the barriers that trans women face in emotional, social, and work-related aspects.
Starring actress and singer Alicia Ramos, the show paints an honest and deeply human portrait of the trans experience, addressing its daily challenges from emotion, memory, and dignity. Through Brava's story, a historically marginalized group is made visible, the stigmas that still persist are questioned, and a powerful message of respect, equality, and justice is launched for all people, regardless of their gender identity or sexual orientation.
One of the great hallmarks of the production is its live music, with versions of ten iconic songs by the legendary Italian singer Mina, such as "Parole, Parole," "Fiume azzurro" (known as "Sobreviviré" in Mónica Naranjo's version), and "Un año de amor," popularized by Luz Casal. The band is composed of Manuel López on piano and as musical director, David Álamo on guitar, and Carlos Peñalver on drums.
