Check out the program of activities for Book Day at the Lanzarote Island Library

The program includes children's workshops, a conference by architect Octavio Mestre Aramendia, an exhibition dedicated to the book, and Japanese calligraphy workshops.

The Education Area of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, directed by Ascensión Toledo, has organized a program of activities on the occasion of Book Day at the Insular Library of Arrecife. The events will take place between April 23 and 28 for all types of audiences.

The island councilor, Ascensión Toledo, considered that "these types of activities promote learning and participation by institutions and the family itself with a day as representative as Book Day, where numerous events for all audiences will be enjoyed."

Schedule

The first event will take place on Monday, April 22 with the organization of children's workshops at the Insular Library at 6:00 p.m. Minors from six years of age can access with prior registration in the email dinamizacionbiblioteca@cabildodelanzarote.com. Likewise, on this same day, at 7:00 p.m., the conference Building with words and writing with bricks, by the architect Octavio Mestre Aramendia, organized by the College of Architects in collaboration with the Insular Library, will be held. To attend the free event, with limited capacity, you must reserve a place through the email dpto_secretaria@coa-lz.com.

On Tuesday, April 23, at 12:00 p.m., an exhibition dedicated to the history of the book will be inaugurated and the video Reading a fragment of Don Quixote, by the students of the island's unitary schools, will be screened. In addition, next Wednesday, April 24, a Japanese calligraphy workshop will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., and at 6:00 p.m. Origami Workshop.

On Thursday, April 25, the Insular Library will host, at 4:00 p.m., a Japanese painting workshop and, at 6:00 p.m., another Japanese calligraphy workshop for young people from thirteen years of age. Prior registration is required in the corporation's dynamization email.

On the other hand, on Friday 26, at 5:00 p.m., and Saturday 27, at 11:00 a.m., April, the Baby Tales Africa and Baby Tales at Home workshops for Early Childhood will be held, taught by Cristina Temprano. Prior registration to the institution's email is required and places will be limited by order of request.
