The Caleta de Famara festivities began last Monday, August 28th, with the proclamation by Alfonso Valls de Quitana, a vacationer in the town since 1950, who focused on showing the "journey of summers and his childhood adventures in Famara," Javier Díaz, the councilor of festivities of the Teguise City Council, explained to La Voz. The most remarkable thing about the presentation has been "the experiences and how a vacationer has become involved in the town," he adds.
As for the program, at the beginning of the festivities, the group 'Calicanto' performed, and after the proclamation, the performance of 'Inerxia'. Last Tuesday, June 29th, the Children's Playback 'Los Chirrimiles' took place, and the concert of the group 'Treinta y Tantos'.
This Wednesday they will celebrate the 'Color Party', and on Thursday, August 31st, a marine pilgrimage and a mass. On Friday, September 1st, the show 'Dreamland Famara' will be the protagonist, and the performance of the comedian Omaira Cazorla. A night accompanied by a popular festival.
For next Saturday, there will be various recreational activities and another popular festival with performances by DJ Ale Ossorio, among others. Next Sunday, the festivity will close with a mass, a maritime and land procession, and a water festival.
The festivities, which will last until Sunday, September 3rd, are having "a large influx of people and a multitude," Díaz acknowledges. On the day of the proclamation, there were "many people on the esplanade of the Pier," he points out.
