The musical group "Bohemia Lanzarote" conquered Teguise last Tuesday night. With the permitted capacity full, the Santo Domingo convent in Teguise hosted the New Year's concert, five years after its foundation.

"Bohemia Lanzarote" continues to surprise the public who attend their concerts by offering a new repertoire of songs; from the most rabid current affairs to those that are already part of the national and international anthology, also winking at songs with Canarian roots, which sound totally different with the musical arrangements made by the director Juanma Padrón, who always respects the author's lyrics.

For this first concert of the year, the group's seven vocalists were supported by great music professionals at the helm of electric and Spanish guitars, bass and double bass, piano, keyboards and percussion. All this with a very careful staging that went beyond the stage and infected the public who, very engrossed, shared choruses and palms at the same time.

Due to the dates we are experiencing these days, a part of the musical selection was dedicated to Canarian and Latin American carols, both intertwined with author's songs such as "Solita", "Para eso canto", "Orgullecida" or "Quiero ser como tú".

One of the most emotional and participatory moments of the concert occurred when the chords of the popular song "Mirando al Mar" were played, written in 1949 by César de Haro Valencia and framed in the bolero genre, which became internationally known in the voice of the Valencian singer "Jorge Sepúlveda". At that moment, and at the request of Juanma Padrón, all the mobiles were turned on, swaying to the rhythm of the musical chords. And so, after almost ninety minutes of concert with the public standing, the grand finale was put with the gift of two encores.
